Exit Polls: Obama Not a Factor

The stakes were high and the mood tense as voters took to the booths Tuesday. Among the closely watched races were the gubernatorial battles in Virginia and New Jersey, and a gay-marriage ballot in Maine. Many speculated that the results of those votes would be read as an important indication of the public mood and Obama's influence just one year after his historic election, but early exit polls show Obama to be a nonfactor in race results. Though regional elections results aren't necessarily a sign of national sentiments, Obama did entrench himself in the local message by appearing in person to campaign alongside Creigh Deeds of Virginia and Jon Corzine of New Jersey. The races come at a crucial time, as lawmakers are trying to push through health-care reform before the end of the year, though Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid hinted Tuesday that may not happen.

Where does this garbage come from? Two governors races and one congressional election in upstate NY which has always gone republican, and the presidents clout hinges on these?
Hey Liz Sidoti, Role me one of those things your smoking..

For the straw-grasping sheeple this is a huge! If Democrats lose it proves Obama is powerless. If the Democrats win it proves diabolical ACORN rigged the elections and is running the country and they need to stock up on more guns and ammo.

Its a win-win situation for the whiners!

I'm just thankful that one year into Obama's presidency we can still vote, he hasn't killed our grandmothers and being white is still legal. These elections today are solid proof that the honeymoon might finally be over with Obama...

..is the way the media decided to generate talking points out of a fairly humdrum group of elections.

Obama is already powerless. He did it to himself through ineptitude and lack of conviction for real change. Let the rout begin for this one-term president.

It looks like some of you started drinking the Kool-Aid a little early today. These elections have little reflection on Obama.

BTW, I can see the waiter coming now and he is talking to you: "Republican, party of one, your table is ready."

You loser, this is mostly about Corzine, but I hope it sends a message to the White House, because the same reason we voted Corzine out, showa thats how we will vote Obama out., if he keeps on this path of Big government and NO PRIVATE JOBS..

Look at the exit polling. About the same number of voters said that they voted for or against the candidate to send a message to Obama. A vast majority said that Obama didn't factor in their voting decision. Obama is still a popular president with about the same percentages for the last six months.

Don't blame this administration for the loss of private jobs. George Bush sent all the jobs overseas, robbed you of your retirement, and then burnt down the banking system, which is why no one can borrow money to expand their businesses. If you are not helping fix the problem, then you are in the way.

I voted against the Dems this time too, they now promote a Social Dictatorship and have trampled the U.S. Constitution with every alleged healthcare bill they have written.

Jefferson in his 1779 Bill for Religious Liberty wrote "that to compel a man to furnish contributions of money for the propagation of opinions which he disbelieves is sinful and tyrannical."

Clearly this applies to alms for healthcare / wealth distribution plans.

Apparently you don't know what a dictatorship is.
There is NO VOTING in a dictatorship. I'm not sure
what you're talking about. "Trampled the Constitution" ? really? how?!

wealth distribution sounds like a good thing to me.
I don't see why you are against that at all.

I live in NJ and am soooo pleased we got rid of that Union Butt Kisser, Liberal Democrat who killed small business in 4 short years, and employed government workers at the speed of light., which raised our taxes so high its unbearable. Shame on him for trying to make this state a socialist State,
