Inside Sarah's Church

In an excerpt from his new book Republican Gomorrah, Max Blumenthal examines the radical beliefs about witchcraft and the “serpent seed” that propelled Sarah Palin into politics.
Prior to her nomination for vice president, Gov. Sarah Palin listed her home phone number in Alaska’s Yellow Pages. She was known to spend hours in her local Wal-mart chatting with constituents. When I traveled to Alaska’s Mat-Su Valley, nearly every politically active resident I spoke to had met the governor on at least one occasion. But many of Palin’s acquaintances, admirers and critics alike, described her in a dramatically different light from that in which she presented herself to the American public.
“Oh father, use her to turn this nation around,” Bishop Muthee shouted, his left palm on Sarah Palin’s head, “so that the curse can be broken.”
Republican Gomorrah: Inside the Movement That Shattered the Party By Max Blumenthal. Nation Books, 394 pages, $25.00
To those who knew Palin, she was no ordinary hockey mom, but rather an evangelical foot soldier who spearheaded the [conservative Christian] movement’s takeover of local government. Her power base was the Wasilla Assembly of God, a Pentecostal mega-church where she was baptized and spent over 20 years as a member.
Most Pentecostal congregations are socially conservative, particularly those that are predominantly white, but Wasilla Assembly of God was in thrall to a radical Pentecostal trend once denounced by church authorities as heresy. Called the Third Wave, it was rooted in an explicitly anti-intellectual creation myth. According to the Third Wave’s founding father, William Branham, a rural Canadian preacher, Satan had sex with Eve and gave birth to Cain—the so-called “Serpent Seed.” “Through Cain came all the smart, educated people down to the antediluvian flood—the intellectuals, bible colleges,” Branham wrote. “They know all their creeds but know nothing about God.”
Despite opposition from inside the Assembly of God’s hierarchy, Third Wave congregations won droves of adherents by emphasizing charismatic displays of ecstatic release, including practices such as holy laughter (hysterical giggling that supposedly represents the spirit of God flowing through the bodies of believers) and drunkenness in the spirit, where worshippers emulate the experience of intoxication so melodramatically that Charles Bukowski would reel in embarrassment. Faith healing is also central to Third Wave theology; Todd Bentley, an influential Florida-based Third Wave pastor known for his tattoos, body piercings, and pseudo-punk attitude, once attempted to “explode” a man’s tumors by drop-kicking him in the chest. He also kicked an old woman in the face because, he said, “The Holy Spirit spoke to me.” One of Bentley’s mottoes is “Some people snort cocaine, others snort religion.”
Behind the Third Wave’s histrionics lies an aggressive brand of Dominionism focused on purging “demon influence” from entire geographic areas through prayer or more forceful means if necessary. Becky Fischer, a Third Wave youth pastor who gained fame as the anti-hero of the award-winning 2006 documentary Jesus Camp, urged pastors to indoctrinate an army of spiritual suicide bombers to seize control of the country. “I wanna see young people who are as committed to the cause of Jesus Christ as the young people are to the cause of Islam,” Fischer said in the documentary during an unguarded moment. “I wanna see them as radically laying down their lives for the Gospel as they are over in Pakistan and Israel and Palestine and all those different places.”
The Third Wave arrived in Alaska through a “spiritual warfare network” founded by an Anchorage-based Haida Indian named Mary Glazier, who claimed to have converted 60 members of her family, including her formerly alcohol-abusing parents. Seeking a “battle strategy” against the rising tide of sin that consumed her son, who committed suicide in 1990, Glazier tried to gain access to the state’s prison system, a pit of desperation. A young female prison chaplain opposed Glazier’s evangelizing intentions. Glazier responded by branding the woman a witch and began to utter imprecatory prayers. “As we continued to pray against the spirit of witchcraft,” Glazier recalled with glee, “her incense altar caught on fire, her car engine blew up, she went blind in her left eye, and she was diagnosed with cancer.”
Sarah Palin was one of the first members of Glazier’s spiritual warfare prayer circle in Wasilla. According to Glazier, while Palin prayed with her during the early 1990s, “God began to speak to [her] about entering politics.” With Glazier’s encouragement, Palin joined other members of the Wasilla Assembly of God in a takeover of Wasilla’s government. In 1994, Palin won election to the Wasilla City Council and the local hospital board, a victory that resulted in the ousting of her mother-in-law, Faye Palin. During the first meeting of the new Dominionist-dominated hospital board, Palin and her allies passed a resolution (later overturned by the state Supreme Court) banning abortion in all circumstances, including when the life of the mother was in mortal danger.
While Palin served on the Wasilla City Council, a Democrat named Nick Carney befriended her and showed her the ropes. However, when Palin announced her 1996 bid for mayor against Carney, she launched a vicious campaign against her former friend, spewing character attacks utterly foreign to the Mayberry Junction-like atmosphere of Wasilla. “I watched that campaign unfold, bringing a level of slime our community hadn’t seen until then,” recalled Phil Munger, a local music teacher.

This is a quote from an article, by Bruce Wilson:http://www.alternet.org/election08/97939/weird_theology_in_wasilla%3 A_a_look_inside_sarah_palin%27s_pentecostal_church/
It ties together the Third Wave and the "C Street" Gang of deviant Republican Congressmen.
The Third Wave, also known as the New Apostolic Reformation, is a network of Apostles, many of them grouped around C. Peter Wagner, founder of the World Prayer Center. This center, which was built in coordination with Ted Haggard and his New Life Church in Colorado Springs, was featured in an article by Jeff Sharlet in Harpers, May 2005, "Soldiers of Christ." Sharlet was one of the first to write in the secular press about the World Prayer Center which is often referred to by those familiar with the Third Wave as the 'Pentagon for Spiritual Warfare.' It features computer systems that store the data of communities around the world, mapping out unsaved peoples' groups and spiritual mapping information for spiritual warfare. Wagner has his own group of about 500 Apostles in his council and each of these Apostles has ministries under their authority, sometimes hundreds or thousands. Recently various networks of Apostles came together to form the Revival Alliance. Leaders of the Revival Alliance including Rick Joyner of Morningstar anointed Todd Bentley whose Lakeland Healing Revival has recently been a controversial topic in the Evangelical world.
Wagner's top leaders often conduct spiritual warfare campaigns against the demons that block the acceptance of their brand of Christian belief, such as 'Operation Ice Castle' in the Himalayas in 1997. Several of their top prophets and generals of intercession spent weeks in intensive prayer to "confront the Queen of Heaven." This queen is considered by them to be one of the most powerful demons over the earth and is the Great Harlot of Mystery Babylon in Revelation. (The "Great Harlot [or 'whore'] of Mystery Babylon" theme also figures prominently in the sermons of Texas megachurch pastor and Christians United For Israel founder John Hagee, former endorser of John McCain's 2008 presidential bid.) Wagner and his group also claim that the Queen of Heaven is Diana, the pagan god of the biblical book Ephesians and the god of Mary veneration in the Roman Catholic Church. Following the 'Operation Ice Castle' prayer excursion which included planting a flag for Jesus on Mt. Everest, one of the lead prayer intercessors from the excursion, Ana Mendez, reported that there had been dramatic results including, "millions have come to faith in Asia... and other things happened which I believe are also connected...an earthquake had destroyed the basilica of Assisi, where the Pope had called a meeting of all world religions; a hurricane destroyed the infamous temple 'Baal-Christ' in Acapulco, Mexico; the Princes Diana died... and Mother Theresa died in India, one of the most famous advocates of Mary as Co-Redeemer."
What utter nonsense..but interesting that the left-wing flake media continues to build up Palin by such nosensical attacks. What would have been more interesting is to take a look at Obama's racist church (and Pastor) that he attended for two decades but never heard one word his Pastor spoke! Isn't that amazing...you can sit in a church but never hear the racist Pastor? Seems to me that must be witchcraft or Satanism right? My goodness, they must be in their third or fourth wave by now trying to take over America!!! What will do??
Please, let's quit the ludicrous attacks on Palin...none of which as yet have stood the test of honest journalistic examination. She apears to have far more common sense and an appropriate disdain for the media that makes her uniquely appealing to the American people.
The DAILY BEAST continues to become the 'National Enquirer' of the internet allowing these fictional left wing nutcases display their paranoia.
You seem to forget there's video of all this. http://youtube.com/results?search_type=search_videos&search_query=palin wasilla church&search_sort=relevance&search_category=0&page=
What do they pay you? Do you get to work from home?
Thank goodness religion saved you from drugs and alcohol. Now you're just screwed up with no excuse.
Why should it stop, when she does`nt???? Don`t YOU do any research??????????DUH!!!!!
Interesting, why would it be more interesting to look into something that has bee exhaustively covered? Why is any investigation of Palin an attack - oh, that's right, she's appointed by God. My apologies - please don't brand me a witch and pray for my destruction.
Really? Utter nonsense? I don't think someone could possibly make all of this up. Can you seriously turn a blind eye to and blanketly assume it's all made up? I'm sorry but I just can't fathom or comprehend how you could read this and automatically turn it around on Obama. What is that about? His pastor was a nut, I'll admit but it's totally unrelated to Sarah Palin (with witnesses) being anointed by a complete whackjob. And Obama's pastor has been looked at-did you even WATCH the news before the election-they couldn't tell us enough about that pastor. THIS is actually brand new, scary information.
Palin's disdain for the media stems from her dislike of being called out for being a whiny baby who plays the victim ALL THE TIME. If she wants to be in politics, she better learn to take the heat. Journalists don't play nice and everyone is sick of her crocodile tears.
Did media miss stories on Rev. Wright's and Obama get togethers.? They conveniently let it go. What hypocrites.
When Palin starts a vicious rumor about "death panels," she deserves all the criticism she can get. It is unconscionable that she lies and that others perpetuate her lies in an effort to scare the elderly. There's a place in hell for people like this.
Oh Jesus- shut up. I am white and live in a poor black neighborhood, and they "all" do that.... for the most part "blacks" preaching on the evil of the white man is taken with grain of salt. My friend loves Malcolm X, she's black proud and could care less- she complains until she's blue in the mouth about white people, finally one day I griped about my racist sister hating niggers, my friend said not to hate her, and she felt sorry for her.
I think my sister is a complete rag- I was pretty sure after talking my friend, she'd befriend my sister ( unfortunately for me).
None the less I am one of the tokken whites- there's a few of us "spots" here in my hood. The barber in my hood also bitched about whites- and even told me- of course we're friends now.
Get over it.
Wasn't the article about Sarah Palin and the "holy" war- errrrrr I mean "energy" war.
another birther/deather Hollering us down in our own meeting place. ho hum.
McLame chose Palin -only- because he thought he'd be running vs. her thighness HRC... McLame is a RINO who needed to balance the ticket politically and by gender... the only reason he got as close to BHO as he did was because of Palin, her popularity with common folk, something you miserable leftwing trolls never understood, and that's great.. looking forward to 2010/12 with more enthusiasm than Blumenfunk generated in this hatespeak... he's in the minority, thank GOD
You must not be aware that the video of this Kenyan witch doctor praying over Palin at her church in Wasilla has been on the internet since last year. So has the tape where she retold the story to the graduates, at her church.
It isn't "ludicrous" if it is true and in this case it is true. If these are her belief's, and they are, then it isn't an attack, it is the simple truth. She should not be ashamed of what she believes but it also shouldn't be hidden.
I am a Christian but I would have a hard time even considering someone who believed in witches and such.
As far as Obama and Rev Wright, I am pretty sure we heard all about it for months..... but you think we shouldn't discuss Palin's?
"Common sense," my butt! The woman's pretty much just an air-head without an intellectual bone in her body. The media (with exceptions such as the Fox News Channel and Wall Street Journal and such) may be disdained by right-wingers fearing the bright light of reality. However, I believe the public generally appreciates the detail and documentation offered by the fair-minded portion of the media. It is only the right, particularly around election time, that attempts to denigrate the refutation of its agenda in print or on the internet. This coordinates with conservatives' wearisome ongoing campaign to make "liberal" a dirty word in the public mind--and thus "liberal press" is chanted over and over. However, it's difficult to understand how these people reconcile a general charge of press liberalism in the face of Bill O'Reilly, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Beck, spittle-spewing anti-Obama blogs, many major newspapers and much of the entire Internet--all devoted mainly to mere out-of-context criticism of liberal goals and principles.
In response to: nickatdabeach: "McLame chose Palin ..... her popularity with common folk, something you miserable leftwing trolls never understood, and that's great.. "
May I refer you (and others here who want an excellent read) to Caroline Myss' piece of Sept 5 where she discusses the "dumbing down" of America by Republicans:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/caroline-myss/crimes-against-the-soul-o_b_ 278188.html
Here is an excerpt:
The vice-presidential candidate that the Republicans ran in the past election against Obama was of equal educational quality (to Bush). We all know who I mean, Miss Lipstick-on-a-Pig. Even her humor is low-class, in keeping with her intelligence. One has to ask, "So this was the candidate Republicans believed could handle the cosmic-sized dilemmas we now have facing this nation?" Sarah Palin? Are they nuts? Listening to those Republicans lie about their support of her in the face of the crises facing this nation was a crime against the soul of America. Why? Because they did not believe a word of what they were saying and that was obvious. Most of them could barely cough up their contrived words of support. How they could possibly live with themselves is beyond me. But that is the blessing, I suppose, of having no conscience whatsoever. You're free to say whatever is required in the moment. But if you want to talk about an educational violation, Palin is the poster child. She is a perfect example of the success of the "dumbing down of America" program. No wonder she is a Republican. Birds of a feather, as the saying goes. But you have to give credit where credit is due, yes? So no wonder they fear Obama coming near the classroom. Republicans have little experience with a refined intellect. (They probably are wondering how Obama escaped the, "dumbing down" system. They certainly didn't. Check out Eric Cantor. There's a "dumbing down" success story if I've ever met one.)
I agree with jpelhamtn. Max Blumenthal's claims are a little too far out there to be believable. The thing that upsets me is how the radicals from BOTH parties are getting attention in national mainstream media. Since when did crazy republicans claiming that Obama is the next Hitler get huge blocks of airtime on CNN? Why do wacky liberal authors saying that Palin believes in a 'Serpent Seed' get a front page article on the Daily Beast? Its the Independents who decide the vote. Why don't we get catered to by mainstream media with straight unbiased reporting?
It is not paranoia, for an example of evidence, just look at yourself, jpelhamin.
Suggest everybody go get the Vanity Fair and read the interview of Levi Johnson...and you know its true because of many of the references the kid uses.
1. Todd and Sarah never sleep in the same bedroom
2. They talked about divorce all the time.
3. Sarah wanted to adopt his and Bristol's baby and would come home sometime and tell them she wanted their baby not the retarded baby.
4. That she never has mothered her children. That Bristol has basically taken care of the younger children forever.
5. Palin comes home gets in her walmart 2 piece pjs and watches home and wedding tv shows.
6. Didn't want to be governor anymore because it was so hard.
7. Sarah never cooked...she would send the kids out
8. Levi and Bristol always had to put Sarah's baby to bed at night, because she would come home and go into her room and not come out.
What he tells us...is what we all thought was the case anyway...he just confirms it. Bristol told Levi, the rumors about her mother having an affair with Todd's best friend was not true, but that it was true that Todd had an affair with a family friend....can some some say SOAP Opera!
What left wing media? Don't buy that shit. MSM is owned by wealthy owners.
Obama doesn't spout religious dogma or have himself 'cleansed of witches' like Palin did. Rev. Wright probably didn't talk about politics in many of his sermons, but to h;ear the Reps talk, that is all he did!
Remember, Obama didn't say, "God damn America", Wright did.
What about Catholics, for instance, use birth control, get divorced, have pre-marital sex, etc. and yet stay in their churches because they like it there and feel comfortable even tho' they don't follow every rule? Obama and his family felt comfortable there and didn't necessarily believe everything they heard.
If Wright is relevant, then Palin's church and religious background is relevant. You can't have it both ways... And as a person who grew up in a pnetecostal family, and has family members who believe this 3rd Wave stuff, I assert the activities described in this article are accurate and scary as hell. ANYTIME you blend religion and politics you get excess...
You need to get off your soap box and do some reading about Third Wave and End of Days churches and their desire to substitute a theocracy for our secular democracy. Become more informed before you rant again; it's your responsibility. Start here: http://www.talk2action.org/story/2008/11/2/115526/519
I too am totally tired of the extremists and those whose are so locked into their own ideology that they distort everything that does creates cognitive dissonance for them.
But ...."never heard one word his Pastor spoke"? Where were you when the big flap about Obama's church was happening?
It would be fair if Blumenthal looke into that church and its relationship to Obama as well....
Saran Pallin is what type of fruitcakes nut stories that made the National Enquirer wgat it is.
Since she stuck her big nose into the national spotlight, she is fair game for all the ridicule she brings upon her airhead self.
Max is obsessed with Sarah.. a compulsion.. why not run a libelous piece on cousin Sidney, or his Temple? Curious Max. There are meds for OC disorder.
Coming in 2010: Max's new soft cover pap: "Torah-Torah-Torah" At better newstands everywhere south of 42nd Street
Sarah Palin in reality represents a big fraction of our culture; empty headed, empty talk, typical beauty queen, looks that catch the attention of the ADD afflicted Disney educated populace and she makes Fox TV money, what is there to question about????
If the Republicans continue to rely on the "word" of their imaginary friends who "tell them" to do their evil and "pray" for the destruction of others, then they will continue to lose constituency.
Even if I was a Christian, this behavior of seeking God's wrath upon others is decidedly old testament stuff - Jesus was supposed to change all that.
Max is exposing a side of Palin that TeamSarah acolytes keep under wraps: she is a wingnut who believes that creationism should be taught in science classes, has been 'blessed' by a witch doctor in her church, believes in End of Days desire to implement a theocracy here in the U.S. and is part of a church that is all over YouTube because of its bizarre practices. This does not make Blumenthal "obsessed" about Palin; it makes him a careful observer of her dangerous beliefs.
Your postings have a strong streak of anti-semitism and you seem incapable of using people's full/correct names when you insult them. Does it make you feel better to demean your opponents by perverting their names? Are you as intolerant as you sound? Go to a right-wing Web site where that will be appreciated. Here you just look st*pid.
Palin is now the Madam of the Church of Our Lord Jesus the Head Prostitute.
Sarah Palin is her own worst enemy. Just listen to the drivel and incoherence from her, and that tells the story.
There is another group called Quiverfull we sorta need to worry about. They believe in having many children and raising them to be army of christain soldiers to take over government and have a theocratic government.
That's kind of hard to read. I'm not used to seeing so much BS outside of a feed lot.
Todd Bentley, an in%uFB02uential Florida-based Third Wave pastor known for his tattoos, body piercings, and pseudo-punk attitude, once attempted to "explode" a man's tumors by drop-kicking him in the chest. He also kicked an old woman in the face because, he said, "The Holy Spirit spoke to me."
Holy shit... that's the closest I've ever been to doing a spit-take. Try reading that with a mouth full of hot tea and see what happens.
These people are going to kill comedy AND irony.
So is this conspiracy stuff coming from the left now ?
Sounding as crazy as the far right nutballs who
manufactured "birthers, and "death panel" nonsense ?
The party is far from "shattered."
Seen the "MODERATE" polls lately ?
This is why extremists, on both the ( Right AND Left ) never seem credible.
Half the time they sound like they just make shit up to suit their agenda,
attempting to make anyone with an opposing view look Coo Coo.
Extremists ON EITHER SIDE are A WASTE OF TIME.

Aw, how sweet. You're trying to hide them.
Sophia,
It's too late. You've been posting right-wing blather here for a long time and many of us remember it. You're one of the people you're now denouncing.
FYI, this is not conspiracy stuff or even fiction. There was videotape of Palin in one of these voodoo-type things during the election. Most of the media shelved it, the mythological *liberal* media.
So....you have no opinion that you want to be called out for, or you don't want to be called out for your opinion. Which is it?
Connie47,
You illustrate my point. The inability of the extreme left
or extreme right to have an ounce of objectivity.
Apparently you missed my comments where I voted for
Gore, Kerry, and Obama, and have been very critical
of Bush as the most incompetent President in history, and that
Dick Cheney is evil, and the Iraq war was all about Oil
and Halliburton. Have been saying that from the very beginning.
Have also said Homosexuality is NOT a choice,
have NO PROBLEM with gay marriage, and that
organized religion is fiction and fairy tales.
Have also been critical of those who generalize with a
broad brush, conservative town hall protesters
as "Racist, Nazis, Brown Shirts,"
while far left protesters such as SEIU can physically
threaten peaceful demonstrators who have opposing views.
I've been critical of Obama because he
painted himself as someone reaching across the aisle.
His government power grab will be his undoing in
2012 when Mitt Romney defeats him.
I said Palin made a great speech at the Republican Convention,
but exposed herself as vacuous, incurious and completely unqualified
when confronted by one on one questions.
I guessed you missed those blogs.
Maybe it's hard for you to see through that far left filter.
It IS possible to be critical of both parties without blind loyalty
to one or the other.
there's connie 47, right on cue -- go take a bath sweetheart, get out occasionally
Also, I supported Ron Paul, who both the
left and right labeled as "Coo Coo."
If that make me "Coo Coo," COOL.
Even Bill Maher praised Paul.

Kerry and Obama-
I'll be Sarah Palin
For Halloween.
You crack me up.
@ sophia -- you owe these morons no explanations-- don't get sucked into their mind warp, their blather, and like connie 47 be sure to bathe once you logoff -- sophia, state your opinions, leave these cretins to wallow in their self pity, ignorance.. their day will come upstairs.. just like fatazz EM Kennedy's did before he caught the one-way express south -- and sophia, I can't wait for Blumenfunkz propaganda on Romney... meanwhile Max-a-million (not from book sales apparently) why not dig some trash on the Tan One, yes the Florida Governor Chuck Crisp -- allegedly he's appointed his lotion boy to keep the Senate seat warm (lubricated?) until the 2010 election.. how 'bout it Max? You seem to be into this kind of libelous crap. Besides, Tallahassee is warmer than Alaska, presuming you ever leave the comfort of whatever cave you call home. Cave? Wow, got the bin-Laden gene going on huh? His book sales a little soft too. Now, constitutional scholar Dr. Mark Levin is a good Jew, writes stuff people want to read, are willing to pay for. No soft cover pap like you produce. Poor Max.

Pentacostals do it overtly... Jews covertly.. bottom line is the same isn't it?
nickatdabeach - It is quite apparent that you hate Blacks and Jews, it would be beneficial for you to take off the sheet and repent to whatever God you believe in. Atheism is the REAL way to go.....
Cleaver called his addition to that particular clothing item, the "appurtenance" , prompting Esquire magazine to observe: "Sam, you made the appurtenance too long."
Very funny GeogeB. My grandfather was a tailor and a furrier who emigrated from Hungary and settled in southeastern Pennsylvania. My father opened a women's ready-to-wear business in a small town in the same building.
As my father kids, grandpa, as he made his post-depression pleated suit pants figured that a little extra material gave the customer more for his money. I can remember the iron gold-colored cash register with the smooth black buttons and the lever which rang up the sale and opened the cash drawer. We also had a huge cold storage vault for the furs which had iron pipes for hangers three levels high with a door that opened with a thick bank like door that opened by twirling a wheel that would fit on the largest of sailboats. As a kid, I loved to climb around the vault among all the furs and, when the Beatles came out, I took one of the wigs off a mannequin, put it on and played air guitar. I must have looked stupid because Dad didn't allow that for but a moment.
As for Sarah Palin, she has been a figure of popular culture from the beginning and a story such as this raises her awareness but pushes her farther in that direction.
Others such as Reagan, Jack Kemp, Bill Bradley and even the unlikely SNL alumni Al Franken have made it into politics but either their intelligence, academic background, commitment to causes blew Palin out of the water and they didn't carry the tabloid typhoon that follows Palin.
I take two things from the whole Palin Show... the rest I leave to those who carry on a non-stop discussion that might as well take place on Mars.
First, she contributes to late night fodder at a time when hosts are having a difficult time getting a handle on how to spoof the President. Can Cheney hold himself out for eight more years as a substitute?
Second, it is truly amazing, if not disheartening, if not depressing to me that there are so many voting citizens who actually think that Palin is a viable candidate for anything let alone willing to vote for her. This is truly delusional.
When the Republicans are finally forced to distance themselves from her in a clear and unmistakable way, it will be interesting to see if she survives on the strength of her personality or is brought down in flames and put out to pasture with the all of societies other fallen papier-mâché heroes.
Sarah better give them all props in her coming book. Think of what a witness for Christ she can be when she boldly proclaims this publicly.
Excellent point! If she's so concerned about fighting God's war, why won't she admit it?
"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians.
Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."

shewolf884,thy say you learn something new evreyday. This is amazing,I love the Ghandi Quote.excellent.............
Are SP and Michele Bachmann cloned from the same God gene?
In politics, a witness for Christ usually means you're pandering to the
evangelicals whose moral Christian high ground trumps any and all
opinions on subjects such as abortion, gay rights and conflict in the
Holy Land. Makes for great theater in the secular world, and provides
the perfect deception for SP who has repeatedly demonstrated a feable
grasp of critical issues that are central to this nation's welfare.

genomegk: My post doesn't infer that Christian politics takes center stage in the arena of political identification. I merely stated that using moral or christian platitudes as a tool for swaying public opinion (ie. procuring votes) without sincerity or genuine belief is grossly misleading. It would appear that SP and Bachmann are masters at doing so in order to disguise their lack of relevant knowledge in regards to critical national issues.
There is a considerable confusion that Max is criticizing Christians when this is not the case. These folk are not just Cuckoo in the sense of crazy, but also in the very real sense of the parasite that camouflages itself as just another wren only better, only to destroy the wrens pushing all the legitimate wrens out of the nest.
These Camouflaged "Christians" do not hold any classic Christian positions, such as "doing unto others as you would have them do unto you" or any such messages of peace or vows of poverty.
Theirs is a sword swinging "Jesus", taking the wealth of others to hand to the "Chosen", before killing off any who do not join them, creating a theocratic totalitarianism worse than any yet accomplished. They camouflage better now than they once did, but they have proclaimed this themselves, and the evidence can be found in Max's book and widely on the Web.
Oh and Genome- Every Conservative principal you list has been horridly violated by most who call themselves "Conservative" except perhaps "Personal accomplishment" of which Bernie Madoff is the perfect example of that. They apply "personal accountability" to the victims of all that accomplishing, but nothing of integrity, accountability, or rule of law for the perpetrators.

FreeDem - I'm a Christian. I understand what Max is saying.
Based on what little I actually read on Branham's webpage they are a departure from mainstream Christianity. Maybe a very significant departure.
The Third Wavers wouldn't be the first group to clothe themselves in religion to push a social\political agenda, nor will they be the last.
This is stranger than imagined....McCain selected her? Don't think John himself had anything to do with her selection. But, to the point, S.Palin reflects a goodly portion of American culture and thought, even the weird juxtapositon of domestic racism and culti-religious transracial demonism.

This comment has been removed by The Daily Beast's editors.
He wanted Liberman? Why would he have wanted Liberman, when Liberman was on a loosing ticket in 2000? It didn't matter who he picked - he wasn't going to win whether it was against Obama or Clinton.
Carole65: He might have done better without Palin, but I agree that his victory was unlikely regardless of his running mate.
Actually, I heard he approached both Lieberman and Ridge but both of them turned him down. Smart move on their parts.
Poor John McCain - I'm glad the old John McCain is showing up more often. Too bad Bush cheated him out of a SC win in 2000.
Stranger indeed. I hope she doesn't reflect a goodly portion of anything.
What she reflects is a goodly portion of the good ole boy,(white) self proclaimed "christians" who can`t think for themselvs and can only follow because they are too ignorant and lazy to do their own research. And would`nt know where to start. They are terrified because they fear they are becoming a miniority(which is true) and they think they are the true Americans that own this country...never mind whites were the first illegal aliens...pure and simple, they are afraid of being treated like they have treated so many others for so long. Their battle cry...in the name of the "Lord"..."if you ain`t wid us you agin us". And she knows those are her biggest fans. That`s why she can control their thinking so easily.

thank you lyle and George...
and Max; your six years of purgatory are about to be rewarded with knowing you have shown the light of reason, intelligence and humour on some very murky shadows in the body politic.
thank you for your efforts on behalf of us all.
It's a rainy afternoon in the Great NorthWest; am watching the clouds over Mt. Hood from my porch and following up the leads this story has opened.
What I resent most about the demise of the Republican Party is that it has destroyed the possibility of constructive argument and dialogue, as perhaps exemplified by Teddy Kennedy.
Here is another offering from Bruce Wilson:,

There are several very insightful links and videos here.
I present this information in the very real hope that we can, with compassion, view the actions and beliefs of our neighbors and then work together to find a way to heal our body politic.
Yes, there is an amusement factor; also, perhaps a 'Fear Factor' in that it seems so 'other.
Blessings on the Work.
Maybe we'll see a strong Libertarian party rise from the ashes of the GOP. That would be the best thing to happen to this country since the advent of the Internet.
Gak,
How do you see that working? who would be in the running? thanks for your thoughtful reply.
@Aurora,
Hopefully Kinky Friedman and Willie Nelson.
Call it Libertarian, call it what you like, but it won't be anything like the sludge we have in DC now. Who wrote this political menu we chose from? Do you think we're wise enough to create a new political "flavor"? R D have outlived their usefulness. Now that we've got such a hot debate going, we'll get something done which might serve us all in better ways. When Ron Paul ran, he got LOTS of Dem converts until he was censored by the mainstream networks. So, it's anyone's ball game next time. Wait till you see the next election.
Kinky Freidman and Willie Nelson works for me.

I would not expect the Libertarians to be any better even if you agreed with their logic. The stealth Theocrats would still be at the lead of it. Ron Paul's group was/is thick with them, that is apparently why they so resembled a cult.
Friedman and Nelson wouldn't have a chance.
Oh, I think pure libertarianism is ridiculous and doesn't take into consideration modern economics or technology. However, I think genomegk has the right idea with a pragmatic libertarianism. I'm not sure who would be in the running, but while I wouldn't vote for Ron Paul, I think he has some good ideas and we could use a few more like him. I'm simply interested in a more constructive debate and balance in Washington.

genome - go look up Game Theory and Keynesian economics and tell me where either of those show up in "Wealth of Nations."
The fact of the matter is libertarianism does not take into consideration any economic theory post-1776. The world is a much different place since then - people have evolved, human behavior has evolved. Smith's book isn't the Bible, it's a treatise.
And we can compete in a one legged sack race too.
"Some people snort cocaine, some snort religion"...
I can't believe how close we became to have this woman run this country....
McCain needs to go to jail for this,
While I appreciate the sentiment, I have to ask - on what possible legal grounds?! Or are you just using hyperbole for effect?
I am sure that the "embarrassment" factor is huge.
John must be a good man & he and Cindy did a good job parenting. Just read some of the stuff that his daughter has written, here on The Beast.
Oh, and I not a member of the GOP.
Not many rebuttals to this article here. It's kinda scary to think that this woman was as close as she was to the presidency. I don't know how the pro-Palin folks can dispute a well documented article such as this one, though I am sure they'll drag up Reverend Wright once again. But this still is really nuts.
OMG!
TDB staff really need to see somebody about this obsession with Sarah Palin.
She's done. No chance of winning any office she would run for. She's stupid. A slut. Ignorant white trash.
Why all the attention? What's next? TDB reporting on her yeast infections?
In this case, there was something substantive. And TDB was there with the dirt on Sarah when it counted, before the election, with the video of the phony witch baiter annointing her or casting demons out of her or whatever he was doing.
We can only wonder what Mission Jesus has in store for her next.
You are right..she is done...her goose is cooked.
And white trash does not even begin to describe her.
Not talking about her is not easy because I have a feeling another shoe is going to drop soon....
That woman is a walking news reel.
Sarah is merely a posterchild for the batshit crazies that are the GnOP. The problem is that they prey so successfully on the racist dolts that are their remaining 21% of support. A lot of people are scared and the GnOP is standing there to scoop them up in their putrid arms.
The GnOp has always been able to use the lynch mob psyche that lies beneath the surface in all of us. McCarthy, Agnew, Dewey, Nixon, Reagan, Cheney, etc. are all cowards that want all of us to be as afraid as they are. In the process we should scrap our constitution and laws to feed their heinous crimes.
Obama must find a "the only thing we have to dear is fear itself." We need fireside chats before these ignominies burn down the whole house.
Imagine if Obama even PROPOSED something like the Fireside Chats?
Hell, look at the outrage at him giving an address to school kids similar to what Presidents of their own party have done... yet it is decried as indoctrination.
With these loons with guns being so p*ssed off that Obama is President, should Fireside Chats happen, I'm afraid of what the reaction would be.
The US is fortunate that Obama got elected so that he could appoint Van Jones to bring rational thoughtful ideas to government service. Love this post racial society in Obama fantasyland.
I wouldn't phrase it the same way as BasPos but he's essentially right. Division of the nation by making it fear citizens with other perspectives then climbing on top of one of the fear mobs seems s.o.p. for the politicians.
I can't believe that the Left is still so afraid of Sarah. They can't let it go. Just one point, she has ben a member of a Bible church for the last few years but the Left can't and won't understand the difference.
opedanderson: Well for one thing, Palin is still very popular with the Republican base. She still has a shot (not a good one, unfortunately for Democrats) at the presidential nomination in 2012.
20% of the people never gave up on Nixon, but you can't win elections without getting some voters with common sense (that's the theory anyway, I'm still in denial about Reagan)
I don't think for one minute that Palin will run for office again. Why should she ? It's too hard. All she has to do is make speeches, which she is good at, and rake in the dough. I don't think she will ever hold public office again. Certainly not national office.
opedanderson,
You love it.
Palin still continues to make "news".....saw just recently about her speech she is to give in Hong Kong.
About a week ago, John Ziegler was on a local radio station talking about her again and saying how great a person she is, blah, blah, blah. Yeah, Ziegler is an idiot, a goon, but he is out there talking her up.
I think the attention is warranted.
Its not actually obsessing on Palin as what she represents in our midst.
So was Bush. It was all out there to see, if one was paying attention. But he got 'elected'.
Overconfidence and 2.50 can get you a seat on the bus. Remember Rove's permanent republican majority?
None of this is new. I read about and saw the Youtubes about this way before the election. Sarah Palin is a whack job and the Republican Party is going that route. What is surprising is that Obama let them get the upper hand on the health care debate and now appears to be pandering to them. Somebody pinch me... is this for real?
Well, I am shocked,, I paid attention during the election, read a great deal about the candidates positions, but had no inkling she was a delusional christian cult member. Its no wonder she is drawn like a knife by the brainwashing machine at Fox. Jim Jones proved how dangerous these people can be with the brainwashing and cloistered teachings. I would say that we certainly dodged a bullet and my opinioin of John McCains judgement has been moved down several notches.
I'm sure the vidoes are still on youtube or somewhere. I watched them in horror last year. I didn't know her from Adam and had years ago, supported McCain but was no longer thrilled with him, so I wanted to take a good look at her........... I decided after watching the videos filmed in HER CHURCH of her that there was no way in hell this woman could be our VP. That was before the interviews where we figured out she didn't know anything about anything that mattered.
Ok I found the videos - watch and listen a few times. One where the Kenyan minister prays over her (the one mentioned in the story) she is about 3 minutes in.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ccmRuCpFjY&feature=related
this is part two but this is where she speaks about the Kenyan minister
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k84m2orSOaM
Hey thanks, watched the videos and had the thought that McCain can thank his lucky stars he didnt win,,, one of her nutjob followers would definately have made the ultimate sacrifice as a spriritual suicude bomber to secure her position and mission for the church and the Kingdom of God as they see it.
This stuff was pretty widely discussed on Alaskan Web sites. Beyond that, in the lower 48, we were getting the sanitized "hockey mom" postioning of the RNC during the campaign. However, visit this site (www.talk2action.org) that monitors immoderate religious beliefs and she is well-represented. Just type Palin's name in the Search box and read with dismay what she stands for and how long she has been involved in a bizarre church movement.
I cannot believe how we keep on making SP such an important part of the news.Ths whole 2 pages, drove me to drink a martiniWhat is this thing that Isralis are all so wealthy,I can name 50 without the wealth ,and I can name all of 50 very important wealthy families.running this country, littrally running the country, the banks, the senates, the lobbying,,with huge fortunes, non jews.So what is that ?and foreign countries running the world with 50 families, powerfull and wealthy and not one Jew in it.As for nuts Rev Wright was also a Real nut case,to sit 2 0 years listening to him??I am not saying this president believes all that, but they sat thru and were part of his church.Anyway ,its over SP,but he has believers, that follow him, also.Rv Wright,Im having another drink
Anything that brings about a martini is actually good... no?
Mmm... martinis.
Gin or Vodka?
1, 2, or 3 olives
Tried one with Boomsma last night, interesting!
chocolate martinis,......Just visualizing people giggling.!!!!!!screaming,nuts.
Please get professional help.
Vodka martini with 2 collosal queen olives (with pits) and tsp of olive juice.
A Dirty Martini. MMMMM, love it.
sailormoon: Reverend Wright's sermons were for the most part no different than those of any other religious leader.
He did say things on a few occasions that were offensive to many Americans. But you have to consider the background of the black community - an estimated 5,000 lynchings, the last as recent as 1968. And don't forget that racial discrimination is still common in America, although it is no longer as open as it used to be.
In short, I can understand why blacks may not be as happy with America as whites are. (I'm white, by the way.)
Also look at the stupid attacks and name calling against Obama, and I have not doubt it is really more because of his race rather than his policies (the policies are an excuse).
AlanD2 - I agree.
Do you consider pulling a man behind a pick up with a chain around his neck until his head falls off lynching?
June 10, 1998 Jasper Texas - James Byrd Jr. a man
AlanD2 you are right,I agree with you,and I am also white, and I concider what was done to the black people thru the years, was horrendous, and immoral.I join many black friends on some Sundays, after they finish church for a buffet. But I have a problem with Rv wright, and many black pastors, and preachers are full of kindnss, warmth, forgiveness, etc. But you are right.!!!!
Judging by your orthographical atheism and your grammatical anarchism, I'm guessing you either had several Martinis before posting or you're a semi-literate high school dropout. Let's give you the benefit of the doubt and assume the former. And I hope you stirred and didn't shake like a proper Martini drinker.
That being said, Rev. Wright at least had only an (entirely rational if politically incorrect) outlook. At least he wasn't diving into mysticism and Christian voodoo.
P.S. If you haven't tried it yet, order a Hendrick's Martini next time. Blue Coat is also an excellent American gin. Either brand, you'll appreciate the experience and it will be worth every penny. Cheers!
gak001,its sailormoon, read what I wrote to Embers, I was misundrstood. Ofcours I disagre with the voodo.I am from another country so I am not a dropout but my English conjugations, might be unclear.
gak001,thank you for the benfit of the doubt.I wrot backwards, im US citizn but from another country.Everyone my computr skips lettrs.Im not a proper shakr,it was chocolat martinis. But bought Blue Coat today.R rad what I posted i was misundrstood.I wrote backwards.Happy Labor day.Thank you Phoeebes.
Ah, I was a couple of drinks in when I wrote that. Sorry for misunderstanding you!
The Blue Coat probably won't taste very good in a Chocolate "martini." If you make a classic martini (gin and vermouth) it would taste much better. I'm also a big fan of gin and tonic.
I agree, you need professional help, SAILORMOON.
You're saying that Jews/Israel control all the world's wealth?
You ridiculous anti-Semite! Take your racist garbage over to Rush Limbaugh's website.
Embers, I "think" that sailormoon was saying governments and economies are NOT controlled by Jews. At least, it sorta seemed that way from his/her incoherent writing.
I might be wrong, though.
Embers I'ms sorry, you did not undrstand me .I am jwish, I said what is th problem that all Jws control the world walth. I said I can name,50 familis here, and 50 families abroad, influential, powrfull,in government, controlling world economy and they are non jews. And that I can name 50 jewish familis, that ar not th walthy ones.I said what is up with always saying that.Thank You Phoebe,I had my martinis, it might not look clear.I also think that what has been done thru the yars to the black people is inhuman and immoral.Thank goodnss slowly w have come and continue to move foward. But I was saying that Rev Wright is diffrent, from many black pastors, who are loving, pacefull, kind, friendly, but I undrstand the diff styles.I also had the martinis after the 2 pages of this incredible, way of acting, and ridiculousness of these people. And I concider RL,nasty,. not because he is the right I dont deslike people because of diff ideals. But I deslike his nastiness.
Rather than use the word "radical" to describe this peculiar cult, I would suggest "reactionary" or "fascist". That's closer to the truth, unless the author meant to specify "radical Right".
Fellow Beasts,
Gov. Palin is currently carpetbagging, and will not be available, to the public, until the 2012 political season. She has become very magnetic, raking in money, and will be drawing critical attention when and if she decides to run for the presidency.
Now that I have issued my superfluous press release....
It is all Gods plan. Gov. Palin is anointed, and sure to win, in 2012. Sure. There is only one way to govern, and God has the ultimate plan, by using Sarah Palin. Yep. The Palin way will bring peace. Ahem. Do all politicians speak in lying tongues? You betcha!
Time tells, history listens, and votes count.
It be it,
Ronin Kannushi.
Humorous to think of both Palin and Bachmann being told by God to run for the presidency. I'm hoping God has a great sense of humor and is just waiting to see these two collide.
Another word to describe this odd sects would be "antinomian".
Jeezo, mc, I haven't heard "antinimian" used since I was a history student, ass-deep in the 17th century. Come to think of it, it makes sense. SP is surely the quintessential 17th-century figure.
You're kind to think of Palin as having any relevance as recently as the 17th c. "Ante-diluvian" would be more accurate.
Just surprised that this didn't come out during the campaign. I suppose there will be more spin to come from both camps.
Carole65: It did come out during the campaign. I saw the video in which she allowed pastor Muthee, a witch-hunter, to lay hands on her. It was played on MSNBC, but I doubt the mainstream TV news programs carried it.
The video got very little play, further proof that the so-called liberal press is a myth and always was one. (As always, follow the money.) You can't turn on a TV without seeing accusations against President Obama, but an actual videotape of Sarah Palin in a voodoo-type ceremony goes on the *do-not-air* shelf.
The video
Got no play because
'THE ELITE LIBERAL MEDIA'
Refused to go near it.
AlanD2...that was not the important video...its the one of the Alaskan Independence Party Conference in Chattanooga, Tennessee The statements about Sarah Palin, By the group's Leader Dexter Clark start at about 5:46
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqa896wYatk
Clark talks about how AIP members ought to join either the Democratic or Republican party and work on getting elected to key seats on the local and state levels...He mentions that was what Sarah had to do ....very interesting clip
I read something about it as well.
It did but not with as much details...I heard that she was associated with a wacky religion during the campaign.
I saw the video of Palin and the witch doctor, probably on MSNBC, which I watch all the time. If it didn't get much play, it is probably because the, as you say, liberal elitist media doesn't want to be seen making fun of religion, no matter how crazy. I don't agree with that practice, but then liberals are nicer than rightwingers.
It wasn't on the MSM that Palin despises, but there was plenty of coverage in more offbeat areas like the Alaskan press and bloggers. She has had a long history with her whacko church so it's not something she can shrug off as she tried to do with her husband's membership in the Alaskan Independence Party. Check out www.talk2action.org for a LOT more on Palin and the End of Days movement.
Wow... where are her suppoters on this?

Funny comment, although please let me assure you that I have many Southern friends who live in trailers, and they voted for OBAMA.
I concur with Embers below. I was born in the south, raised in the south, still live in the south, am white and voted for Obama, as did my children.
While we don't live in a house with tires, I know many people who do and that is insulting. Many of them would probably put the tires back on and move north to Canada or south to Mexico if that woman was in the White House. Guess they would have an advantage over you in that regard.
Why can't people have rational debates without trying to put down others? Can we not stand for something and argue the point, tell the facts, all without tearing down a segment of our population?
If I were the sum total of where I live, what I live in, or what I drive then my sum total wouldn't be worth much. If I had to tear down people to make my point, I'd rather not make it.
Obama could probably win some more southern states, if he would campaign down here. It might sound crazy, but I think if he had spent time in Arkansas, he could have won it. Unfortunately the nuts and crazies probably make the secret service to worried for that to happen. I don't think he has been south of NC..... well I guess SC and FL, but not AL, TN, KY, AR, MS or LA.
I would imagine a lot of them are driving cross country for Glenn Beck's 9/12 event in DC.
That stupid tea party thing?
Embers - A bit different than a tea party. Glenn Beck wants to recreate the Spirit of 9/12. Meaning America coming together the day after 9/11. However, as he's one of the people who helped destroy that sense of oneness, it seems a fantasy or some ploy to label non-participants as being other than Americans.

From this article -> 'The Kenyan preacher explained the current relevance of Queen Esther, a Jewish beauty queen who married the king of Assyria and then used her seductive wiles to persuade him to save her people from the evil Haman.'
Esther was actually a Jewish queen of the Persian Empire, rather than the Assyrian Empire, married to King Ahasuerus otherwise known as King Xerxes, and she is the heroine of the Biblical Book of Esther, which is named after her.
I am a practicing Christian, so I am somewhat familiar with the story, and I understand that for a practicing Jew this story is a big deal and that they consider Esther to be a prophet, as well as literally the savior of the Jewish people when they were living in the Persia Empire, first as captives and then as one of the many peoples of the empire.
I am surprised that either Max Blumenthal or Muthee the Kenyan preacher got it wrong. I apologize if my assumption is incorrect, but I am guessing not many of you are into the Bible as history. A mistake like this would be like saying the Promised Land was in Persia.
Umm...I'm a practicing Jew, and the story of Esther this is NOT a big deal. You should think of it as a morality play; in non-Orthodox Judaism, it's a story mostly told to children. (Think "Pocahantos" and the Pilgrims in third-grade class plays.)
In Conservative synagogues, it's a festive service. Delicious special cookies (called homentaschen) are baked, little girls dress up as Queen Esther (with little tiaras and scepters) and there is generally a little girl beauty pageant.
Now that I think about it, it's much like the story of Palin. Except Esther was seen as beautiful, clever and trying to save her people; Palin is just a bat-sh*t crazy, middle-aged, poorly coiffed "leader" of the party of Rush.
ha ha good one, speagle! it's like saying chanuka is a super important holiday!
Apologies, Speagle. I had the impression that it was important.
As for Palin, there's nothing wrong with being middle-aged. Regarding the rest of her fascinating character make-up, well something will have gone terribly wrong with the United States if she ever becomes POTUS.
" Palin is just a bat-sh*t crazy, middle-aged, poorly coiffed "leader" of the party of Rush." A succinct, humorous summary of Palin. Thanks for the LOL moment.
As a Jew, I am offended by "practicing christians" who presume to understand Jewish thought and temperment, especially when they are wrong in fact and ideas. Queen Esther was not a prophet but someone who used her influence to change events to save her people. By the way, you are either "familiar" with the Story of Esther or you make "assuptions", but you can't have it both ways. Either you know or you don't. Also, the Bible is not history, it is a collection of rules to follow.
dstack9781 - No offense intended. Substitute the words "I understand" with "I am under the impression", which is what I intended it to communicate. And I am not claiming to "presume to understand Jewish thought and temperment". That would be your words, not mine.
I am familiar with the story enough to know that it took place in the Persian Empire and Esther was the hero, thus my surprise to read that Max Blumenthal seems to associate the story with the Assyrian Empire. I do have to reread Esther to remember who the bad guy was, though I remember what happened to him in the end. I am not an expert.

From the entry -> "To the Rabbis Esther is one of the four most beautiful women ever created. She remained eternally young; when she married Ahasuerus she was at least forty years of age, or even, according to some, eighty years; hence her name 'Hadassah'. She is also counted among the prophetesses of Israel."

"it is likely that Sarah Palin embraces"
speculation. I stopped reading there. Please stop wasting people's time.
There really is such a thing as a witch, and in fact there are a lot of them from what I hear and read. So Sarah Palin believing in witches doesn't mean that she's wrong in the head, at least not about that. Though I suspect her version of a witch differs radically from what one might encounter in the real world.

I looked at the official web page for the group that believes in William Branham as some sort of prophet. I couldn't find the 'serpent seed' (Wikipedia references it) but did find some interesting stuff. One of Branham's visions, number six, predicts the rise of a female politician...
http://www.williambranham.com/featured_stories/1933-7-visions-of-william -branham/
'Then there arose in the United States a most beautiful woman clothed in splendor, and great power was given to her. She was lovely of feature but there was a hardness about her that defied description. Beautiful as she was, she was yet cruel, wicked and cunning. She dominated the land with her authority, she had complete power over the people. The vision indicated that either such a woman would literally arise or that this woman of the vision was merely a type of an organization which is scripturally characterized by a female. Though the voice did not speak out and reveal who she was, he felt in his heart that this woman represented the rising Roman Catholic Church, and he inserted in parenthesis beside at the end of this vision which he had written out, (perhaps the Catholic church).'
Bear in mind that hard-line conservative non-Catholic Christians of Braham's day were always going on and on about the Catholic church being the Whore of Babylon, the Pope being the Antichrist, etc. If he was short-changed at a grocery store he would be bound to consider that the clerk was a Catholic, rather than a Baptist or a Methodist.
Even so, it suggests we shouldn't dismiss a Palin - Bachmann ticket for the Republican Party in 2012, and it might explain why the Mayan calendar stops in late 2012.
It's also odd to consider this group of 'believers' backing Palin as a politician, chiefly because Branham was a great believer women not even having the vote, so the idea of voting for one I would guess have him spinning in his grave.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_M._Branham
I'm sure there's more to this than what Max Blumenthal has chosen to share. Caan't wait to see more.
Great post. You should put that up on a blog somewhere so more people can see it.
It's posted to Current.

Witches are real?? Visions of a beutiful woman ruling? What is this? THE DARK AGES?
Go to the links I posted. If someone says that he or she is a witch, then this person is a witch, which has a variety of meanings depending on who the audience is. Some witches are nature worshipping herbalists, other witches are in different places...
Branham was obviously fixated on the Book of Revelation and was in an apocalyptic state of mind. Historically, for certain people with an anti-pope fetish, the Roman Catholic Church was the Whore of Babylon. I think this is where Branham was going with his 'vision', despite it sounding like a description of Palin herself.
'Then there arose in the United States a most beautiful woman clothed in splendor, and great power was given to her. She was lovely of feature but there was a hardness about her that defied description. Beautiful as she was, she was yet cruel, wicked and cunning.'
I find it peculiar that Palin is involved with a group whose founder would be shocked and horrified by her being involved in national politics, and who would have preferred that she stay at home and confine herself aspirations to 'kuche, kinder, und kirche'.
And it's always the Dark Ages for some people. I suspect Branham liked things extra dark, since the light of knowledge would interfere with his ability to cloud the minds of men and women.
Sara "Garbage Pail" Palin is dangerous plain and simple. By the way, where has Toad been?
Thank you.
