 You should watch former Secretary of State George Shultz’s talk at the Carnegie Endowment, given this week. It offered a counterintuitive view on what to do in Afghanistan with interesting anecdotes from the '80s that illustrate Iran's longstanding proclivity for duplicity and show how hard it will be to negotiate. Shultz lambasted Washington for running up irresponsible debt. It was quite a bipartisan love fest there, packed with many administration officials as well as columnists. |
